Snow can fall at Cradle Mountain from as early as June through to October, with July and August offering the most reliable chance. Winter weddings often feature dramatic snow-covered peaks and cosy lodge receptions, while spring brings the chance of both snow flurries and bursts of wildflowers.

Autumn (late April to May) is famous for the “turning of the fagus,” when Australia’s only cold-climate deciduous tree transforms the Cradle landscape with brilliant gold, orange, and red leaves. It’s a rare spectacle found only in Tasmania, and Cradle Mountain is one of the best places to experience it.
